Donations

Often during the course of the Fraternal Year, Council 1310 is able to make several financial donations to a number of worthy local, and even a few international, causes. This section will allow you to see just how much our Council helps our community through various cheque presentation photos.

Recently, Grand Knight Norm Gallant made a presentation of $1,000 on behalf of the council to Michael Cantwell Vice President-Philanthropy at the George Dumont Hospital for their annual Tree of Hope Fundraiser.

As always, we are delighted to help such a needed cause in our community!

Recently, Grand Knight Norm Gallant made a presentation of $600 to Anne LeBlanc-Levesque of Paroisse du Christ-Roi to help with their production of Soirée en Chansons et Saveurs.

It is our pleasure to help our Faith community to do good works.

Recently, Grand Knight Norm Gallant and Financial Secretary Mike Gallant made a donation of winter coats to the YWCA to help needy children in our area. Accepting the donation on behalf of the YWCA are Angel Theriault and Ashley MacDonald.

It is an honour and a pleasure to help young people in our community!

Recently, Grand Knight Norm Gallant presented a cheque of $1,000 to Father Carlos Jacinto to go towards their 2026 Marriage Enrichment Retreat.

It is a pleasure for our council to lend a helping hand to our home parish!

Recently, Grand Knight Norm Gallant presented a cheque of $500 to New Brunswick Right to Life to help with their Soup for Life event this weekend at Saint Bernard’s. Accepting the cheque was Lise Watts, president of the New Brunswick Right to Life, Moncton Chapter.

It is our pleasure to help them with this fundraiser in support of the Hope House Maternity House!

Recently, the Grand Knight made a donation of $1,000 to Albert House SENB Hospice. Accepting the donation were Hospice CEO Bonnie MacFadyen CEO and Fund Development Officer Nick Scott.

It is a pleasure to be able to assist such a worthy organization and a reminder that there is so much more to being pro life than we normally think of.

On November 11, Grand Knight Norm Gallant presented a cheque of $300 to the Sunny Brae Legion for the annual Poppy Campaign. Accepting on behalf of the Legion is Poppy Campaign Chairman Bill Fallon.

We are delighted to be able to help such important causes in our community!

Recently, our council made a donation to the New Brunswick State Council for the Coats for Kids Campaign.

Recently, Council 1310 donated a barbecue to Birchmount School to help with their fundraising efforts. Here, Grand Knight Norm Gallant presents the barbecue to Vice Principal Nathaniel Steeves. It is our pleasure to help in our community!

Recently, Grand Knight Norm Gallant presented a cheque for $1,000 to the Beaverbrook School Lunch Program.

Recently, Grand Knight Norm Gallant presented Maurice Léger of the Moncton Chapter of the Canadian Council of the Blind a cheque of $500.  We are delighted to be able to help so many worthy causes in our community!
 

Recently, Chancellor Kyle Laverty presented a cheque of $500 to Trevor Droesbeck of the Archdiocese of Moncton Office for Evangelization and Catechesis. This money will help the Archdiocese put on their yearly Summer Vacation Bible Camp.
It is a pleasure to be able to help our young people!
 

After the March 30th Sunday Mass, Chancellor Kyle Laverty presented Father Carlos Jacinto with a cheque for $1,000 to help cover the costs of taking our youth to the Steubenville Atlantic Conference in Halifax this summer.
 
It is an honour to be able to help our parish and the youth in our Archdiocese!
 

Recently, Grand Knight Norm Gallant presented a cheque to Gaston Charette on behalf of his daughter Natalie Charette Howard, who is a member of Ecole L’Odyssée l’Ensemble Harmonie et Jazz.
 
L’ecole Odyssee Ensemble Harmonie et Jazz will be competing in an international competition in New York and our council donated $1,000 to help with the travel and lodging costs for the event.
 
We are happy to help inspire the next generation in our area!
 

Recently, Grand Knight Norm Gallant presented a cheque for $500 to Father Angus Johnson, our Worthy Chaplain on behalf of Saint Lawrence O’Toole in the parish unit of Queen of All Saints Parish Grouping. The church recently obtained the organ from Our Lady of Calvary Monastery in Rogersville. Our donation went towards the purchase and installation of the organ.

Tree of Hope 2024

Recently, Grand Knight Norm Gallant presented our annual donation of $1,000 to the Georges Dumont Hospital Tree of Hope Campaign.
 
It is an honour to be able to contribute yearly to such a worthy program in our community!

This morning, our Council presented a donation to the U12 Atlas Cheerleading squad to assist them with fundraising for an upcoming tournament in Florida next year.
 
The squad participated in this tournament earlier this year, which was the first time an U12 division was open, and they ranked 4th place out of 7 teams.

We are proud to help support children’s athletic programs and wish the U12 Atlas Cheerleaders best of luck in the 2025 tournament!

Earlier today, our Council presented a donation at the People for Animal Weelbeing (PAW) Moncton shelter, in support of their Pet Safekeeping program.

The program is a partnership between agencies that shelter and provide assistance to people experiencing intimate partner violence. It assist those who may be delaying their decision to leave an abuser because they cannot take their pets with them.

On Wednesday, November 13, Grand Knight, Norm Gallant presented a donation of boys and girls coats to Susan Craig and Angel Thériault of the YWCA for the Knights of Columbus’ Coats for Kids Campaign.

On Friday, June 21, Chancellor Kyle Laverty presented a cheque for $500 to Father Carlos Jacinto to contribute to the cost towards taking young members of our Parish and Archdiocese to the Steubenville Atlantic Conference in Halifax.

On April 15th 2024, our Council donated a set of bingo balls to the CHU Dumont Hospital volunteers, who organize a weekly bingo at the Msg. Henri-Cormier Lodge for patients receiving cancer treatments at the Dr Léon-Richard Oncology Centre.
 
These hard working volunteers help make a difference to the lives of cancer patients and we are glad to be able to help their cause.

In addition, we also made a donation to the St. Michael’s Scouts for the event. We are very honoured to help a local group- especially one that works with our community’s children!

On Sunday, May 28, Council 1310 hosted a Breakfast in support of Baton Atlantik to help with their travels to Croatia for an event. Here, Trustee, William Landry, accompanied by Grand Knight, Paul LeBlanc, presented a cheque for the proceeds to Coach Brenda Arsenault-LeBlanc, and competitors Julie Allain, Mylene Bastarache and Brianna Middleton. It is an honour to help a group that plays such a positive role in the lives of our youth!

Grand Knight Paul LeBlanc and Deputy Grand Knight, Guildor Parent, member Ernest Brian and Marilyn LeBlanc (wife of J.P. LeBlanc) recently made a donation to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation the amount of $1,000 in memory of our deceased Brother J.P. LeBlanc.

The cheque was accepted by Board member, Maria Cormier. The funds for this cheque were raised from a golf tournament held last weekend at the Maplewood Golf & Country Club organized by the Knights of Columbus, Council 1310 at the request of Marilyn Leblanc to honour J.P.’s memory.
