Grand Knight’s Message

From time to time, both on important calendar dates and important dates within the Knights of Columbus, our Grand Knight will offer a message of a thought for that day. It will be our pleasure to make that message available in this section.

As we mark Labour Day, we pause to remember the reasons we celebrate this day to begin with – the very real benefits the worker has given society.

As Catholics, one of the greatest examples we know of the value of hard working comes from Saint Joseph. Our Faith teaches us that while we don’t often hear much about Joseph, we know that he was a hard worker supporting his family as a carpenter and teaching some life lessons to Jesus.

Even now, we must remind ourselves that the worker should have certain rights. The Catechism of the Catholic Church also stresses the importance of the worker to be guaranteed the rights of safety and dignity. While society have improved since yesteryears, there is still a need to champion this cause.

Over the course of the day, I hope our members and their families and all who read this will have fun, but also take time to appreciate how important to society the worker is.
